Palm Based GTD
Using Palms productively

The more things stay the same....

Well, I was tempted by the new version of Note Studio for maybe fifteen minutes tops. For starters, it won't run on my Mac. I went ahead and put it on my Palm to take a look at it. And then there was no contest. I like the looks of Mobile Note so much better. I can live without the linking and some of the other features in Note Studio. I'm very satisfied with what I have.

I've fallen off the GTD wagon a bit, even thought of handing the list off to someone else. It doesn't seem to fit my lifestyle right now. And when I think about homesteading, it doesn't seem to fit at all. Then I read the book "Small-scale Livestock Farming", since this is the direction I'm drawn to right now. And there are chapters on farm planning, financial planning, biological planning and monitoring. Gee, maybe it would be a good tool after all!

I'm going to be on vacation after this week. It's a good time for a mid year review and maybe putting some thought into GTD practices for the farm. This stuff could come in handy after all.

GTD outside of corporate headquarters

Sunday, July 10, 2005
I haven't been posting here because I am finding it tough to use GTD when I don't need it at work. I know that the planning, organization and review pieces should be helpful no matter what I do. I just don't seem to want to plan things like how to improve the soil at home or design the yard into small grazing plots. I don't think I need a formal system for that, although I'd like to spend more time brainstorming those things. Maybe I just need to sit down and review everything I have in the current system and see what I need to add. Then I have to get myself to look at it every once and a while. That's been a stumbling block recently.
